On Camera Acting and Talent Coaching Blending 1st Timers with Seasoned Pros and Adding Polished Deliveries for Executive Speakers and Hosts for any Occasion or Video Project! Look like a Pro in 4 Hours! A Specialty that only comes from Film and TV Experience! You can easily recognize Hollywood production talent values from Independent values. This can usually be revealed by looking a many local production firms located anywhere but Hollywood or New York. Many local firms boast they're the top rated award winning company in their local city or area, but the turth is, they just don't have the experience or working knowledge from working around Major Motion Pictures or Broadcast Television. Bob brings the kind of experience one can only gain from working on top Hollywood Films giving him the ability to work with any combination of Talent requirements from Drama to Action! Here's a senerio that I've seen far too many times. A local production company gets a nice sized 'gig' for a corporate industrial, it may even be for a Nation Wide Company. They produce slick looking video presentations, have a staff experienced in the basics of production, technically know all the equipment functions, but in reality, most of them have worked in the Industrial, local Cable TV station or Corporate arena. Now, all of a sudden, they have this great opportunity to step up with a National firm that is giving them a really good job. However, the Corporation's advertsiing agency has just negotiated a deal with a couple of Hollywood seasoned Professional Actors and the scenes require interaction between multiple Actors and Actresses that are all cast from the local area where the production firm is located. Excited about the opportunity, the Production Company uses their most experienced staff member to direct the scenes.
Here's what you get - almost 99% of the time. A Slick looking production with support acting that is obviously not done by anyone with Major Motion Picture or Broadcast TV experience. You can't really put your finger on the word while you're watching it, but you can feel it in the air - 'amatuerish'. Not in the rank sense of the word, but in the sense that makes a statement that they tried hard and came up short. Also, the performances of the two Professional Actors are subpar, for them that is because the director did not have the high level experience to 'blend' in the performances, and the entire Spot is an obvious give away that it was done by a local company. All of the support talent end up looking like all of the other on camera talent, voice overs, narrators, etc., that this company has been using and producing for years because they're all getting the same direction. Works for Corporate and Industrial purposes, but struggles to reach the standards that we are all accustomed to from Film and TV, let's face it, we're all spoiled in that sense. I know a few of these companies in various states and have talked with them about it. Problem is, they just don't seem to get it. It's like a high school football team trying to compete against the Super Bowl Champs. - Blending Talent is a Science. Professional Actors expect professional performances - I can't imagine what they are doing or thinking when they sit at home and watch their favorite TV Show or go to the Movie Theater. "Hello, is anybody home?" You're supposed to be a pro' watch what and how the Pro's do it, while you obviously will not get first hand experience working with them you can at least try and gain something from paying attention while you're watching. Still even that being said, without having actual work experience on these Major Million dollar productions the problem is, they simply don't know what they're really watching. Like I said, we're all Spoiled, we all want those John Wayne Maureen O'Hara, Clint Eastwood, Johnny Depp performances, and that caliber of performance only come from first hand working experience in the industry. Blending Talent is a Science. Professional Actors expect professional performances from their fellow actors and the audience expects it. This is a fact. I know, I've worked on far too many shows with some of Hollywood's major stars and if you're working with them, you'd better study your craft. If the Star doesn't pan you the director or producer certainly will. A believable and captivating on camera performance is the key factor in Message delivery and effectiveness. |
